Branding

Branding

Branding is a concept as old as the hills!   On a farm or ranch, the one way to know your animals was to put a mark or brand on them.  That way if they strayed or got mixed up with others on an extra large ranch of thousands of acres, you could sort them out and find your own by looking for the mark.

Jesus, has a mark on us as Christians, we are known by Him.   Furthermore, we know each other as Christians – that mark is LOVE!

Ministries & Evangelists today need to understand the value of Branding.   Every car company has a stamp on the back of it.   No name needed.   You just know a BMW, an AUDI, and a Cadillac, by the Logo.

If you intend to stand out with your Ministry you need to value and implement the concept of a Mark. You may say that it sounds very worldly, but, this is something that falls under the category of Neutral.  It’s not any more or less spiritual to be quickly and accurately identified, than to be missed entirely.    Too many Ministries are lost in the maze of the mass.    They are not distinct!    They don’t stand out!

Therefore they miss great opportunities, potential, finances, and followers/supporters/partners. People should be able to identify you quickly by your Logo, Mark, and Brand.    Instant identification.

Pray about your Website impact!   What does it say to people?   Would they think – credibility, attachment, joining with you, clarity, simplicity, honesty, gaudy, insincerity, garish, foolish, stupidity?  The answers will tell you whether they will come back, take you serious, move on to help another ministry, or be impacted positively.

Re-Branding

Sometimes, time and distance tells us whatever we are now doing with our concepts and branding is not working.   Maybe we have:

  1. Changed our Vision.
  2. Promoted beyond the facts.
  3. Moved in a Secular direction.
  4. Developed a Personality Cult Image.
  5. Not Identified Clearly our Mission.
  6. Let our Branding become Stale.
  7. Missed Completely Our Goals.

Whatever has gone wrong it pays to re-evaluate our present position.   Maybe we need “freshness”?   Maybe our Graphic Artist/Designer is old school?     Tired?    Lost focus?

Maybe we need to describe our Mission and Vision again in light of the years of past service?   Whatever, always look at yourself through the lens of a first-timer.    First Impressions are still the measuring rod.
