Where Were You?

About 2 or 3 years ago, I wrote a booklet titled – Where Were You When the Lights Went Out? Well, last night the lights went out for about 3-4 million people in Ontario, Canada with a very bad ice storm. People woke up with, no lights, no heat, no water, no travel, just to name a few of the inconveniences.

Now, that’s bad enough but the good news is; it’s coming back on again. Given the repair, maintenance crews that will work 24/7 most will be restored in a couple of days.

My booklet on the other hand describes a scenario, where the source of Power is wiped out. To rebuild the grids, plants, infrastructure would take a life time. Essentially driving us back to the stone age.

The purpose of the booklet is to let people see that we are living in an age of vulnerability. A season of life where we could easily lose control. A time when everything could go up-side-down.

It’s main purpose is to encourage people to accept Christ as Saviour and let loose of the things of life and this world and begin to live for the Kingdom of God that is coming.

     How fragile is life.

How out of our control are the things that matter.

How poorly we live in the light of eternity.

The song writer has said, “and the things of earth will grow strangely dim; in the light of His glory and grace”.

How will you fare when the Lights go Out?
